CEO/Executive Director
Jess Minckley, MFA, MA, LMHC, ATR-BC (they) holds degrees in fine art and counseling/art therapy. Jess is a career artist & designer, educator, writer & researcher + a Board-Certified Registered Art Therapist (ATR-BC). Their passion brought ATFA to life with the vision that all people could receive art therapy if they desired.
Ethics Advisor
Dr. Danielle Tidwell Chen (she), PhD, LMFT, RPT, ATR is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (GA), a Board-Certified, Registered Art Therapist (ATR) and holds a PhD in Art Therapy. Danielle advises ATFA on matters of professional Ethics. She ensures we engage clinical work with consideration and skill.
Education & DEI Advisor
Tori Force (she), MA, ATR, advises ATFA of issues related to education. ATFA’s initiatives bring art therapy & therapeutic arts interventions into schools. Tori also advises on educating the public about art therapy + considers how ATFA can collaborate with graduate art therapy programs. This work is done in the context of serving diverse communities with special attention paid to cultural humility in art therapy. Tori ensures our programming is inclusive of diverse perspectives & is equitable.
Secretary
Beare (they/tē/she/he) MA, ATR, LMFT (WA), is a Sex Therapist & Educator, writer/researcher, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, and a Registered Art Therapist (ATR). Tē serves as a scribe as well as helping develop programming that furthers the organization’s mission.
Advocacy Liaison
Melody (she) MA, ATR-P, LPCC (MN) is a provisionally registered Art Therapist and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Minnesota. She aids ATFA in their mission to do advocacy with the general public, the art therapy community at large, and per state with art therapy licensure advocacy. ATFA aims to engage in political advocacy initiatives that make mental health treatment more accessible.
Future Art Therapist Liaison
Dorinda (she) is a future art therapist and student at Seattle Central College. She advises ATFA on creating programming and outreach that appeals to future art therapists.
Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer
Ixchel (she) is a Master of Accounting and Financial Management (MAFM) who works with small organizations helping founders lead with purpose, grow with clarity, and thrive with ease. Ixchel has been a critical force in developing ATFA from its infancy.
We welcome resumes/vitaes and/or inquiries about serving the art therapy community through volunteering. We are seeking help with Outreach, Fundraising & Grants, Social Media, Community Liaison, Research, and DEI Committee members.
