Jess (they) holds an MFA, is an artist & designer, educator, writer & researcher in addition to being a Board-Certified Registered Art Therapist (ATR-BC) and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington state, Idaho, & Utah. Their passion brought ATFA to life with the vision that all people could receive art therapy.

Chief Financial Officer & Treasurer

Ixchel (she) is a Master of Accounting and Financial Management (MAFM) who works with small organizations helping founders lead with purpose, grow with clarity, and thrive with ease. Ixchel has been a critical force in developing ATFA from its infancy.

Ethics Advisor

Dr. Chen (she) is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), a Board-Certified, Registered Art Therapist (ATR-BC) and holds a PhD in Art Therapy. Danielle advises on matters of professional Ethics & Cultural Humility. She ensures ATFA engages ethically in political advocacy.

Education Advisor

Advises ATFA of issues related to the education of art therapists and the public. Part of ATFA’s initiatives to bring art therapy & therapeutic arts interventions into schools. Advises on educating the public about art therapy + how ATFA can collaborate with graduate art therapy programs.

Social Justice Advisor & DEI Ambassador

Maryssa (they/tē/she/he) is a Sex Therapist & Educator, writer/researcher, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) in Washington state, and a Provisionally Registered Art Therapist (ATR-P). Tē She makes sure ATFA is social justice-oriented according to its mission

Public Relations Ambassador & Secretary

Natalie (she) is a future art therapist who assists in connecting with partner organizations, manages our social media presence, and is secretary. She advises ATFA on how to reach prospective art therapists and develops opportunities for educating the public about art therapy.
